Social media

The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (EHP) has dedicated profiles on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube so we can more effectively connect and engage with Queenslanders.

Distributing information through social media will help us inform the community about the role of the department, its key activities and high profile events.

Why are we using social media?

Our aim is to inform you about issues affecting Queensland.

  • Our Twitter account, Facebook pages and YouTube channel supplement the information we publish on our website.
  • We can remind you of important events.
  • We can better communicate with people using mobile devices.

Will we respond to your posts, comments, replies or direct messages?

We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and try to join the conversation where possible. We are not able to reply individually to all the messages we receive via our social networks; however, we do read all comments and messages and we will make sure constructive comments are forwarded on to the appropriate areas. For specific enquiries, do not contact us using Twitter or Facebook. Use our contact us form instead.

Monitoring of, and responding to, comments and messages received through social media channels will be undertaken during business hours only.

Stop following me!

If you no longer wish to be part of the EHP network on Facebook, visit the relevant Facebook page from your desktop Internet browser and scroll down to the very bottom of the left-hand column. There you'll find an 'unlike' link. For further assistance go to the Facebook Help Center.

To stop following us on Twitter, go to the EHP Twitter profile and select 'unfollow'. For further assistance see Twitter's support pages.

To unsubscribe from our YouTube updates, go to the YouTube EHP channel and select 'unsubscribe'. For further assistance see YouTube Help.

Be aware that Twitter and Facebook are public spaces on the internet, so all interaction is publicly viewable and searchable over time.
