Natural resource management
The Queensland Government is committed to supporting the state’s regional natural resource management (NRM) arrangements through a collaborative approach between the department and regional NRM bodies. There are 56 such bodies across Australia, 14 of which are in Queensland.
The Queensland Government supports regional NRM through its Q2 Coasts and Country program, which invests in each of the 14 regions to manage biodiversity, wetlands, water quality, coastal risk, sustainable agriculture, and weeds and pests. These priorities align closely with the investment priorities for the Australian Government’s Caring for our Country program.
