Tin Can Bay dolphin feeding program
The handfeeding of a small number of Australian humpback dolphins at Tin Can Bay has been authorised under Queensland Government legislation.
Under the legislation, the feeding program must be conducted in a sustainable way in accordance with the conditions of operation that ensure the dolphins’ health and wellbeing.
The dolphin feeding program is one of two authorised programs in Queensland. The other program operates at Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island and is authorised under a Marine Parks permit by the Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing.
The Tin Can Bay program is authorised to operate in the waters adjoining lot 80 shown on the following location map .
