Changes and new additions to wildlife categories in Queensland
The Species Technical Committee (STC) assesses the status of wildlife in Queensland. The STC includes scientific membership from the Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts, the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection and other areas as required. Once assessed, the Governor in Council may approve the proposed wildlife categories by amending the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Regulations 2006 in accordance with the Nature Conservation Act 1992 (NCA).
