Cape York eastern basins
In 2020, environmental values (EVs) and water quality objectives (WQOs) for the surface waters of the Eastern Cape York basins, were finalised and included in schedule 1 of the Environmental Protection (Water and Wetland Biodiversity) Policy—the EPP (Water and Wetland Biodiversity).

Waters extend from the Jacky Jacky Basin in the north to the Endeavour and Normanby basins in the south, and include adjacent coastal and marine waters. (Refer Overview map of the Eastern Cape York basins .
Status
EPP (Water and Wetland Biodiversity) Schedule 1 amendments for the Eastern Cape York basins were approved in 2020.

Water Quality Improvement Plans / Healthy Waters Management Plans
The Eastern Cape York water quality improvement plan (WQIP) was prepared by Cape York Regional NRM in consultation with stakeholders. The WQIP and supporting materials were an information source for the scheduled materials.
