Koala care and rescue

The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (EHP) operates a koala ambulance and rescue service in South East Queensland.

What can you do if you have seen a sick, injured, orphaned or dead koala?

  • Contact the Koala ambulance straight away if you suspect a koala is unhealthy and in need of assistance, and provide any information about the koala’s condition. For example, does it have a wet and dirty bottom (cystitis), or inflamed eyes (conjunctivitis)?
